Together with Marc Suchard from UCLA, we’re pleased to host the upcoming CViSB “Systems Biology of Infectious Disease” workshop February 20-22, 2019 in La Jolla, CA. Those wanting to learn more about genomics and phylogenetic methods to analyze infectious diseases will not want to miss it!
We’ve secured a stellar list of infectious disease researchers to present and participate. Jennifer Gardy, scientist-chairperson-tv host-distiller and, well, genomic epidemiology expert, will be coming! Journalist Ed Yong of The Atlantic will underline the importance of responsibly communicating scientific findings. Other leaders in our field who will participate also include Andrew Rambaut, Nick Loman, Tami Lieberman, Philippe Lemey, Michael Worobey, Sidney Bell and Nidia Trovao. It’s a truly stellar lineup!
Participants will bring data to analyze during hands-on tutorials interspersed with talks from our invited guests. The intimate nature of the workshop will also allow participants to receive feedback and direction from Kristian Andersen, Marc Suchard, and all the invited speakers.
This is an incredible opportunity for grad students, postdocs and ‘junior’ investigators but space is limited. Be sure to submit your application by January 1st, 2019.
